Idyllic and spectacular house at Madonna della Neve, Badalucco, to see it is to fall under a magic spell. It's a house for an artist, writer or lover of sensational beauty in nature.
The house is placed on the mountain overlooking the sea with nothing but olive groves and nature around it. The view is over the bay, some half hour's drive below. The road is not for the faint hearted 20 minutes of narrow bumpy asphalt road and then a minute's flat walk to the house through the woods. Once you are there it is paradise, full immersion in nature. The house is in major part the restoration of a rustico, or old olive barn of 77 mq. It opens with a spectacular terrace of 36 mq overlooking the sea and the woods, you can see for miles perched on the top of the valley. In the morning you can see Corsica directly in front of you. The terrace has a dining and summer kitchen area.
In the house, on the top floor is a pretty antique kitchen, living room and bedroom, the living room has a balcony. Stairs lead to the lower floor with guest bedroom, bathroom and cantina. Outside of the guest bedroom is terrace of 20 mq an outside loo and a barn, used as a laundry room and storage space. The house has a beautiful pool with terrace around it , the pool is of 3.20m x 6.60m. The surrounding land is of 3,138 mq all woods.
The technical systems of the house are basic and functional. It has a mains electric line, a boiler for hot water of 30 liters, water comes from rain collection and there is storage tank of 30,000 liters. Cooking is with gas by canister. There are wood fires in the house.
The church of Madonna della Neve is on the mountain above. Legend has it that in medieval times the Virgin Maria was seen on the mountain top in thick snow during August. The memory is continued in the church and with a spectacular feast day on the 5th of August. The nearest village is Badalucco, with many restaurants and bars, especially famous for porcini mushrooms. There are all services in the village.
