The beautiful Liberty Villas of San Remo interetwine their history with the tourist development of the city along with some unmistakable buildings with their facades decorated with stringcourses, bay windows and wrought iron tracery.
Originally inhabited by the nobles and the rich mitteleurope middle upper class, they have names belonging to "fin de siecle" novels. In the Villas that have survived the urban development of the 50/60s one can still breathe the atmosphere of the San Remo "Belle Epoque" . |
